Michael Giacchino is on Oscar duty


November 17, 2008 Continuing to draft new talent for the 81st Academy Awards telecast, producer Laurence Mark and exec producer Bill Condon have named composer Michael Giacchino as the show's musical director. Impossible III, The Family Stone and The Incredibles, and he is composting and conducting scores for the upcoming Star Trek, Land of the Lost and Up. The awards show is set to take place Feb. 22 at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland.
