Film Movement picks up 'XXY'


February 27, 2008 Indie distributor Film Movement has picked up North American rights to the Argentinean coming-of-age drama "XXY," winner of two awards at last year's Festival de Cannes. Lucia Puenzo's provocative feature follows Alex, a teenage hermaphrodite whose secret is threatened to be discovered when the son of a family friend becomes a potential romantic partner. "XXY" won both the Critics Week Grand Prize and the Golden Rail award in Cannes and several other awards at fests around the world.
