Indie duo teams for mobster tale
November 19, 2008 Indie producers Anonymous Content and the Film Department are joining forces to develop "The American Way," a World War II-era mob drama from first-time screenwriter Brian Kistler. In a saga described as "Once Upon a Time in America" meets "The Untouchables," two brothers are profoundly affected by their parents' murder, leading one to the FBI and the other to a life of crime. Kistler was signed to WMA in September on the strength of "Way," which blends fictional characters with real-life mobsters from the era.
