'Truth' picks up 'Idol' baton
January 25, 2008 The new Fox reality series successfully took the handoff Wednesday night from "American Idol" and in the meantime delivered the highest retention in the adults 18-49 demographic of any show leading out of the musical competition. "Truth" averaged 23.2 million and a 10.2 rating/24 share in 18-49, according to preliminary estimates released Thursday by Nielsen Media Research. NY (11.7 million, 3.3/9) beat both NBC's Law & Order (10.3 million, 3.0/8) and ABC's Cashmere Mafia (5.6 million, 2.0/5), all at 10 p.m.
