Smoke House, Warners on 'Tourist' trip
October 12, 2007 Warner Bros. has picked up the movie rights to "The Tourist," an upcoming book by two-time Edgar Award nominee Olen Steinhauer, for George Clooney and Grant Heslov to produce via their Smoke House banner. Picked up in early manuscript form, the story is described as being a contemporary international thriller in the vein of John le Carre and Graham Greene and follows a spy who must risk everything to reveal a conspiracy after he's suspected of a murder he didn't commit. Smoke House is in post on the football movie "Leatherheads," which Clooney is directing and Universal is distributing.
