Eclectic lineup for Berlin's Generation

January 13, 2009 From animation to documentaries, from a coming-of-age story on the Mongolian steppes to a tale of squatters in a London warehouse, this year's Generation lineup provides the mix of mainstream and eclectic titles we have come to expect from the Berlin International Film Festival's kids-and-youth sidebar. Fantasy and adventure are recurring themes in the films of Generation's Kplus children's section. Lars Buchel's "Lippel's Dream," about a boy caught up in a daydream of his own life, will open the section, and highlights include the world premiere of Tomm Moore and Nora Twomey's animated adventure "Brendan and the Secret of Kells" and Rene Bo Hansen's "The Eagle Hunter's Son," set in Mongolia.
