Disney off on adventure with 'Girl' spec

June 15, 2007 Walt Disney Pictures has acquired Brian Nathanson's spec "The Occasionally Interesting Anti-Adventures of an Unnamed Girl" for Scott Rudin to produce through his studio-based shingle. The story centers on an imaginative young girl who, stifled by her banal suburban life and restrictive parents, runs away to a fantastical world that proves to be darker than she had hoped for. Disney's LouAnne Brickhouse and Todd Murata are shepherding the project for the studio.
