Acquisitions slow at Toronto fest

September 09, 2008 The Kathryn Bigelow action pic "The Hurt Locker," a tense thriller about bomb defusers in Iraq, continued to draw interest in the twenty-four hours after its Monday screening; Summit Entertainment is among the distributors said to be in the mix for the CAA-repped title. Meanwhile, distribs kicked up their heels on Endgame Entertainment's "A Chorus Line" doc "Every Little Step," with at least three buyers interested in the pic, which is being repped by William Morris Independent. The agency on Tuesday also screened Adria Petty's documentary "Paris, Not France," a look at the more serious side of Paris Hilton, who is depicted in the doc as someone whose daft party-girl personality is in fact a persona she dons for media consumption and does not represent who she truly is.
