UPA retrospective highlights Ottawa ani fest

September 06, 2007 A retrospective of work from Hollywood animation studio UPA will topline the upcoming Ottawa International Animation Festival, organizers announced Wednesday. "The UPA story is not just about contemporary design, but innovative animation, adult stories, human characters, modern music and social consciousness," said Tee Bosustow, curator of the Ottawa festival retrospective and son of UPA founder Stephen Bosustow. In addition to Bosustow, other Americans booked for the Ottawa event include J.J. Sedelmaier, who created the "Colbert Report's" "Tek Jansen" cartoon series; Orrin Zucker, co-creator of the animated reality cartoon "It's JerryTime!"; and Jim Blashfield, whose music video credits include work for Talking Heads, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and Peter Gabriel.
