'Dunya and Desi' is Dutch Oscar entry


August 28, 2008 Teenage drama "Dunya and Desie" has been selected as the Dutch Oscar entry for best foreign-language film, Holland Film said Thursday. The leading characters are played by Eva van de Wijdeven and Emmy winner Maryam Hassouni, who was the Dutch Shooting Star at this year's Berlin Film Festival. "Dunya and Desie," based on a local TV series by NPS, is produced by Lemming Film and had its world premiere in February at the Berlinale.
