BMI London awards film, TV music prizes
October 17, 2007 Golden Globe-winning composer Alexandre Desplat, Grammy-winning composer David Arnold, and composing brothers Harry and Rupert Gregson-Williams were among the winners in the 2007 BMI London Awards announced Tuesday evening. The film and television music prizes were among honors handed out to members of Britain's Performing Rights Society and other European rights services for top play in the U.S. in 2006 at the American music rights organization's annual London shindig. Former Genesis frontman Peter Gabriel was named a BMI Icon for his "influence on generations of music makers."
