Alan Taylor is 'Bored' for HBO
August 15, 2008 Emmy winner Alan Taylor has been tapped to direct HBO's comedy pilot "Bored to Death." The Jonathan Ames-penned project, which will film in September in New York, stars Jason Schwartzman as a struggling thirtysomething writer with a drinking problem in Brooklyn who, following a painful breakup with his girlfriend, decides to emulate his heroes from the novels of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett. On the comedy side, he helmed a half dozen episodes of HBO's "Sex and the City."
