Canal Plus picks 'Daisies'

April 09, 2008 CANNES -- "Pushing Daisies" will bloom on Canal Plus after the Gallic pay TV network acquired the ABC series to air in France in the fall. Canal Plus is also hoping to bridge the gap between France and the U.K. with several new British series, including Alchemy's miniseries "Diamonds," ITV's Granada-produced "My Boy Jack" and the BBC miniseries "Oliver Twist." Despite the pickups, Canal Plus new head of Cinema Manuel Alduy, who is also handling series acquisitions, said the MIPTV market has been relatively quiet for the group.
