Brit TV dominates Rose d'Or's record lineup
February 29, 2008 British television content is dominant and U.S. series conspicuously absent from the lineup for this year's Rose d'Or, Europe's oldest TV entertainment festival, which kicks off in Lucerne, Switzerland, on May 2. The NBC Universal pilot "Life," a crime drama about a cop who returns to the force after years of wrongful imprisonment, was the only U.S. series picked for the 48th annual event. Five of the 10 programs nominated for best drama are Brit-based, including Hartswood Films' "Jekyll" featuring Golden Globe nominee James Nesbitt; Company Pictures' teen drama "Skins;" Tiger Aspect production "Secret Diary of a Call Girl"; Carnival Films' "The Whistleblowers"; and Granada Prods.'
