ABC picks up nine series

February 12, 2008 On the first day after the informal settlement of the writers strike this weekend, ABC picked up nine popular scripted series for next season. The list include juggernauts "Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Lost" (which is in the first year of a three-season pickup), sophomore series "Brothers & Sisters" and "Ugly Betty" as well as freshmen "Private Practice" "Pushing Daisies," "Samantha Who?" and "Dirty Sexy Money." "The strength of our schedule this fall was unprecedented and speaks for itself," ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson said.
