Tribeca picks 'First Class' screenplay


March 29, 2007 The Tribeca Film Institute announced the winner of the annual Tribeca/Sloan Screenplay Development Program, participants in its Film Fellows Program and a special youth media student screening hosted by Whoopi Goldberg. The fifth annual screenplay program award, presented with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to support films with scientific themes and characters, was given to writer David Freeman for "A First Class Man," a fictional biopic about an Indian mathematician. Freeman will receive financial support and advice from screenwriters and math experts as he develops the script.
