Slow starts for 'Hills' spinoffs


December 30, 2008 The premiere of the "Hills" spinoff, which follows Whitney Port as she relocates to New York to take on a new job, averaged 1.6 million total viewers at 10 p.m. Monday. That's a dropoff from the Season 4 finale of "The Hills," which averaged 2.6 million viewers in the time slot the previous week. However, "The City" was able to significantly build on its lead-in, the premiere of reality competition series "Bromance" starring "Hills" staple Brody Jenner.
