Kings of Leon wears sales crown in Australia


January 03, 2009 Kings of Leon's fourth studio album, "Only By the Night" (Sony), was the best-selling album of the year just ended Down Under, according to the Australian Recording Industry Assn. "Only By the Night" enjoyed a four-week stay atop the ARIA albums chart in 2008, en route to selling more than 350,000 units (five-times platinum), the trade association notes. Pink's explosive hit "Funhouse" (Sony) was runner-up on the year-end list, which was compiled using sales data accumulated from each chart between Jan. 7 and Dec. 29.
