'White Night Wedding' catches Edda bouquet
November 19, 2008 Baltasar Kormakur's "White Night Wedding," a matrimonial comedy loosely based on Chekhov's "Ivanov," was the big winner at Iceland's Edda Awards, the country's top film honors, taking seven trophies, including best picture. "White Night Wedding" also is Iceland's official candidate in the foreign-language Oscar race. The other multiple winner at Tuesday night's Edda ceremony was Oskar Jonasson's thriller "Reykjavik-Rotterdam," which earned five awards, including best director.
