MTV plays with 'Dolls' in new slate

May 29, 2008 MTV has a slew of projects in the works for summer and fall, including a scripted comedy from Wilmer Valderrama. Also on the slate, which includes a total of nine projects either greenlighted to series or in development, are a search for the next female singing superstar, a reality competition featuring 50 Cent and a rock-themed "Making the Band" spinoff. Asked what common thread runs through the slate, MTV programming head Tony DiSanto said: I think the key thing is that each one is unique, and that's what defines the MTV brand: the diversity and creativity and mix of projects.
