Paramount Vantage gets 'Buried'

October 21, 2008 Paramount Vantage has bought its first project of the Guy Stodel era, signing on for the crime drama "Buried," with Todd Field attached to direct. "Buried" is the first project picked up by Vantage since New Line veteran Stodel took over for Amy Israel as exec vp production and acquisitions this summer. Stodel was seen as a genre specialist, but Vantage topper Nicholas Meyer said at the time of the hire that the company would continue to make auteur-driven pictures, with the Oscar-nominated Field ("In the Bedroom," "Little Children") certainly fitting that definition.
