CPN's Executive of the Year Awards
Thought Leaders
By Suzann D. Silverman

Each year, CPN honors the commercial real estate industry's leading executives, those top performers that, according to a vote among their peers, have made the greatest contributions to the industry in the past year. Now in their 12th year, CPN's Executive of the Year awards reflect creativity, ingenuity, agility and strategic thinking, recognized in 15 categories plus a Lifetime Achievement award.

New this year is the Sustainability Executive of the Year award, which recognizes developers' contributions to the rapidly growing area of sustainable design. In addition, this year CPN recognized not just first-place winners but two honorees for each award.

The results of the ballot, which was open to voting by the top two executives at companies across the industry, included 14 first-place winners and 34 winners in the first-place and honoree categories combined. Several executives were awarded multiple awards and some are repeat winners.

The winners were featured in CPN's December issue; what follows are observations and words of advice from many of the first-place awardees, who were asked about their road to success as well as thoughts on achieving in a difficult market. For the full list of winners, click here.
