Developers Break Ground on $210M Residential, Retail Project in Jersey City

Construction has begun on a $210 million development in Jersey City, N.J., that will feature two 47-story towers with a total of 524 rental apartments and 11,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Monaco Towers, developed jointly by Roseland Properties of Short Hills, N.J., and Garden State Developers of Jersey City, had originally been planned as a condominium property but will now offer rental apartments.

Holliday Fenoglio Seals Deal for Redevelopment of GM Plant in New Jersey

The Indianapolis office of Holliday Fenoglio Fowler arranged $70 million in financing for Duke Realty Corp. to redevelop a former General Motors manufacturing plant in Linden, N.J. The redevelopment project will receive a two-year adjustable rate loan with HSBC Bank USA, with US Bank and The Private Bank as participants.
Matrix Takes 82-Acre New Jersey Site

Matrix Development Group has acquired an 82-acre site in New Jersey that includes a total of some 342,000 square feet across 13 office and labratory buildings. The site has 2,000 feet of frontage on the New Jersey Turnpike near exit 8A.
Thomson Expands Princeton Lease

Mack-Cali Realty Corp. said today that Thomson Inc. has extended the term of its existing 62,500-square-foot lease at 2 Independence Way at Princeton Corporate Center in Princeton, N. J. In addition, the company has agreed to lease the building’s remaining 4,800 square feet.

The Orbach Group has purchased the Miry Run Apartments, a nine-building complex housing 144 units. The acquisition is the second Hamilton, N.J. property in the company’s portfolio, joining Victoria Apartments, bringing the Hamilton total to 460 units.
