Home Run Inn Pizza Kicks Off Halloween Video Contest

To bolster the September launch of its Signature and Ultra Thin pies, Chicago-based Home Run Inn Pizza is partnering with YouTube to stage a video contest, in time for Halloween next month.

As part of the Home Run Inn Video Challenge, consumers are invited to post a two-minute original horror short film on http://ca.youtube.com/group/homeruninnpizza featuring the pizza brand. Home Run Inncomprises both retail establishments and frozen pizza operations.

The contest will run through Oct. 10. The winner (chosen by YouTube viewers) will receive $2,500 and hi-tech Halloween house decorations. The Home Run Inn Pizza team will help the winner host a Halloween pizza party and pass out pizza slices to trick-or-treaters. 

Additionally, judges will select five finalists, who all get a year's supply of frozen pizza. POP and online will support.

October also is National Pizza Month, when Home Run Inn Pizza usually sees an increase in its frozen pizza sales, per the company.

"We wanted to do something to get our customers involved during our favorite season," said Gina Bolger, Home Run Inn's director of marketing. "Using YouTube is a great way to make it easy for everyone to be creative."
