EMI Music Publishing has promoted three executives to key commercial roles in the company's North American sales and licensing operation.
Jovanka Ciares, who previously led the company's U.S. merchandising business with the title of senior director for music licensing, has been appointed VP of music services and licensing, with responsibilities for the company's licensing and negotiations with national and global advertising agencies.
Also, Marty Fernandi and Eric Shaw have both been promoted to VP positions within the music resources team, working on new business development and creative music supervision with brands, agencies, video game developers and merchandising companies.
Ciares, who is responsible for driving growth in the advertising sector, will continue to report to senior VP of music resources and licensing Nancy Weshkoff.
Fernandi, who has been with the company for 11 years most recently in the position of director for music resources, produces many of that division's reference compilations for clients as well as pitching songs for use in major advertising opportunities.
Shaw, who joined EMI Music Publishing in 2006 and previously was director for music resources, has worked on TV commercials for major brands as well as expanding EMI's outreach into the video game and merchandising communities. Both Fernandi and Shaw report to music resources COO Brian Monaco.
