UMG Names Harleston Senior Legal VP

Universal Music Group (UMG) has appointed Jeffrey Harleston to senior VP of business and legal affairs. He reports to Michael Ostroff, UMG's general counsel and executive VP of business and legal affairs worldwide.
Most recently, Harleston served as executive VP and GM of Geffen Records. He began his tenure with UMG in 1993, when the company was formerly named MCA Music Entertainment. He held a variety of positions, including VP of business and legal affairs for MCA Music.
