Digital Briefs: The Orchard, 'Guitar Hero,' Meebo

- The Orchard is licensing its entire catalog to direct-to-consumer ringtone company Myxer. The deal brings The Orchard's 1.1 million tracks to Myxer's 11 million members.
- Activision has licensed the guitar tone technology from the Line 6 music studio package. The tech will be integrated into the upcoming "Guitar Hero: World Tour" game and will allow users to create their own music using the game's instruments.
- Instant messaging and chat service Meebo has joined up with Nettwerk Music Group, Sparkart and Wind-Up Records to bring ad-supported branded chat and IMs applications for their respective artists.
