Peermusic Promotes Hamburg Pair
July 08, 2008 - Global | Publishing

By Wolfgang Spahr, Hamburg

Peermusic has revamped its executive team in Hamburg with the promotion of Lubna Al-Aswad to the new position of GM.

In her new role, Al-Aswad will report to Michael Karnstedt, European chairman of Peermusic, and to the corporate office.

Until now, Al-Aswad has served as assistant to the European chairman of Peermusic, a role she was appointed to in 2004.

Meanwhile, Michael Böttcher, who has connections with Peermusic spanning more than 30 years, has been appointed head of the A&R department. Böttcher has been responsible for building up national repertoire at Peermusic since 1972, signing such acts as Goombay Dance Band, Peter Schilling, Olsen Brothers, Blümchen and Orange Blue. He has also worked with artists such as Roger Cicero, Ina Müller and Annett Louisan. Böttcher reports to Lubna Al-Aswad.

"I am delighted that we were able to give two very competent personalities of our company the chance to be responsible for even bigger challenges," comments Karnstedt in a statement. "We are convinced that we will continue our success with our writers, producers and artists. I wish Lubna Al-Aswad and Michael Böttcher a good and lucky hand and success for the future."
