Sony/ATV Subpublishing Savage
March 05, 2008 - Publishing | Jazz

By Susan Butler, N.Y.

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed an international subpublishing agreement with Savage Records, the publishing company of jazz composer/pianist Matt Savage. The deal covers Savage's back catalog and future works for all countries except the United States and Canada.

Among the compositions under the deal are all original works featured on the last six albums recorded by the Matt Savage Trio. The sixth album, "Hot Ticket: Live in Boston," was released in January and distributed by Palmetto Records (MRI/RED).

The album was recorded during two concerts at Tufts University's Distler Performance Hall at the Granoff Music Center. Grammy-nominated Jonathan Wyner produced the album, and nine-time Grammy-winner Tom Bates engineered it.
