Ingram Wins Big At SESAC Christian Awards

Jason Ingram took home his second consecutive honor as SESAC's Christian songwriter of the year during the organization's annual awards dinner held Tuesday night (Feb. 26) at Nashville's Sambuca Restaurant. A singer/songwriter/producer who works with numerous artists, Ingram was recognized for penning Grey Holiday's "Let Go" and Rush of Fools' "When Our Hearts Sing."
SESAC also saluted Windsor Way, Grange Hill Music and peertunes, Ltd. as the top Christian Music Publishers of the Year. Adam Agee and Jordan Messer of Stellar Kart, Jeremy Kunkle of This Beautiful Republic, Tiffany Arbuckle Lee and Ian Eskelin were among the other SESAC songwriters honored.
“I really was surprised," Ingram tells Billboard.biz. "I've had a good year and I looked forward to this. There are so many people I respect that are here. There were some songs in the category that I liked better than anything I had, so I would not have been surprised for one of those to win, but I'm very excited about being back here again."
Ingram was the sole performer during the awards dinner, taking the stage to song "Love is Here," a song recorded by new Reunion Records band Tenth Avenue North. Ingram has been co-writing and producing the band whose debut album is due in May.
