'Idol' Sets Auditions For New Season

Auditions for the eighth season of "American Idol" begin Thursday, July 17 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.
The other audition cities are: Louisville, Ken. on July 21; Phoenix, Ariz. on July 25; Salt Lake City, Utah on July 29; San Juan, Puerto Rico on Aug. 2; Kansas City, Mo. on Aug. 8; Jacksonville, Fla. on Aug. 13 and East Rutherford, N.J. on Aug. 19.
Auditions are open to men and women 16-28 years of age who are eligible to work in the U.S.
The eighth season of "American Idol" will premiere on Fox in January 2009.
