Australian Wins Global Award From CMA

Australian country artist Troy Cassar-Daley was honored with the 2008 Country Music Associations Global Country Artist Award during the CMA Music Festival, which runs June 5-8 in Nashville. The award recognizes outstanding achievement by an artist who has furthered country music's popularity and brought attention to the format in their foreign-based territory.
Having sold more than 250,000 albums, Cassar-Daley is one of Australia's most awarded and recognized singer/songwriters, according to the CMA.
Past winners of the award include Adam Harvey (Australia), Jason McCoy (Canada), Paul Brandt (Canada) Kasey Chambers (Australia), Slim Dusty (Australia) and Lee Kernaghan (Australia).
